CITY GOVERNMENT

Police Department Goes Green

The San Fernando Police Department recently enhanced its patrol operations with the addition of two T3 vehicles. Resembling an electric trike, the vehicles allow officers to quickly and easily maneuver through crowds and hard-to-reach areas of the city.

SFPD officers demonstrate the T3s that will soon hit city streets.

Fueled by electricity, T3s are considered “green” and inexpensive. “Green” because they produce zero emissions. And inexpensive because they run on just pennies a day.

T3s have a top speed of 25 miles per hour and include an integrated LED lighting system. Officers will use the vehicles on special assignments, along the Mission City Trail and within the downtown mall area.
